Hey Music, Thanks for the Therapy!

Well folks if you’ve ever drive on the highway and see someone waving there arms and bouncing up and down, you have officially spotted me! This post is dedicated to my top eight songs of the moment, I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

  1. KOKOMO by The Beach Boys
As soon as I hear this song any mood can instantly be changed! I can remember listening to it when I was younger with my dad and sister. If you haven’t listened do yourself a favor and click on the link!
  2. I Hold On by Dierks Bentley
To the things I believe in
My faith, your love, our freedom
To the things I can count on
    To keep me going strong
    Yeah, I hold on
**Basically a perfect song to sum up different feelings, plus Dierks is a beautiful human!
  3. Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson (Feat Bruno Mars)
I mean who doesn’t love this song, as soon as the beat starts you cannot stop dancing!
  4. Who Loves You by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons
If anyone can get me dancing it’s Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. If you are my age and you have never jammed out, please click on the link and listen to this and the next song on my list!
  5. Oh What a Night by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons
WHY IS THIS NOT THE MUSIC WE MAKE NOWADAYS! BRING IT BACK!!
  6. Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw
I don’t know what it is about this song BUT I cannot stop listening to it. I love listening to the lyrics and just reflect.  It also doesn’t hurt that Tim is real easy on the eyes!!
  7. Stand By You by Rachel Patten
This song is a great motivational, “i love everything and myself” type of song! Also it’s fun to sing along to!
  8. Something in the Water by Carrie Underwood
This is another motivational song. I love Carrie and I really think she did a great job with this song. The lyrics are truly something to connect with.

A lot of these songs are oldies by goodies. In all honesty music can really change my mood, it has helped me through break-ups, deaths, relationship woes, has inspired many instagram captions and truly made me happy. So as I leave you, turn your volume up and happy dancing!

I didn’t last…

With the new year here I’ve given thought to my blog and decided that I want to try a different approach. Every time I set a schedule, I NEVER follow through! SO starting in February I am going to be posting three- four times a month (basically once a week!) I don’t know what themes I am going to be sticking with, but hopefully they will be fun!

Today I am going to write about my DCP experience. A lot of you may know, or not know, one year ago (today) I flew down to Florida to start the Disney College Program. I ended up coming home early, and by early I mean EXTREMELY early.  With the “one year” coming up, I’ve heard a lot of “do you regret coming home?” or “what made you come home?” I guess for me it was a lot of different things that helped me finalize my decision. The main one being my anxiety, it was probably the first time I’ve had legit panic attacks, which spiraled into me making myself sick. I was constantly overthinking timing, getting in trouble, or navigating the park correctly. This alone drove me nuts. The decision to come home was something that made a lot of people upset, but it was the best one for me.

“Do you regret it?”
A question I never thought I would answer. Honestly I’m not sure I do. I think I regret the opportunities/ friendships I could of established. I really lucked out living with awesome girls and unfortunately I was never able to establish a lasting relationship with them. I am so glad they got out what they wanted from the position and I secretly live through the pictures they always post. The one thing I keep reminding myself is that if I didn’t come back I wouldn’t have had the experiences that I have had. I definitely wouldn’t be in a grad school program and I wouldn’t have had the GA experiences at Stonehill and Bridgewater. The program didn’t work for me and it sucks but what happened in the past cannot stop me from the experiences the future.

5 years later

Well folks you read that right, it is my five year reunion for high school! I do feel incredibly old, but I also feel nostalgic. Looking back at pictures or even reading old journals has left me thinking “Kacie, you were weird.”  Facebook gives you the option to “see memories” by taking a look back to different posts or pictures that you were either tagged in or posted. Pictures from high school brought back incredible memories and the pictures from college made me miss it more and more.

Although 5 years is not as drastic as 10, 15 or even 20, a lot of things change within 5 years. Since going away to school, I have changed drastically, I talk to about 3 people (that’s aiming a little high too!)  that I went to high school with. I’ve grown apart from a lot of people but I am still grateful for the memories they gave me. I definitely would not be the person I am today if I didn’t have the relationships I have had. Looking back at Facebook opens your eyes to how many people actually step into your life and help you grow.

Our high school reunion is still not fully planned and I am still undecided on attending. I think it would be really cool to go see how everyone is doing and being able to reconnect, but I will definitely keep you in the loop!

As for now, I’m gonna go watch Zenon and outdate myself even more!

Thankful

Im BACKKKKKKKK! Today I will be posting about our November theme, THANKSgiving, today will most likely focus on things I’m thankful! Read to the end and you’ll get a surprise video!

Thankful, what exactly does it mean to you? To me, it means expressing gratitude towards things/people that I have. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, mainly for the Turkey and mashed potatoes but since growing up I have started to understand my real reason for giving thanks. This past year I have experience some really awesome times and some really poor times but through it all I have had amazing times. I am so thankful for the opportunities i have been given, whether it is working at BSU, living at stonehill, attending grad school or being able to buy a new car. I am incredibly grateful to the people have supported me through it, nana and grampy, mom, dad, kristin, sydney and of course matthew. The friends I have gained and even the friends I have lost, I have learned so much about myself through you!

I hope everyone gets to experience a warm cooked meal and hopefully a loving hug on Thanksgiving. Make sure you tell people you love them and most of all tell them THANK YOU!

Top 5 of September

I’ve recently read a couple of blogs that have posted some of their favorite products or trends that they really like. So without further ado…..

Zukowskiblogs MUST HAVES

  1. Teavana Perfect Tea Maker *

Image taken from Teavana Website

I honestly love my Tea Maker. I use it almost every day and each time I use it I always get the best tasting cup of Tea. You can use it with an actual kettle where you let the water boil and then place the correct amount within the cup or you can use your Keurig! I do get bummed out because with the perfect maker you need to buy loose leaf teas and also have a place to store them. I was lucky enough to recieve the product for Christmas with a gift card. I always brew myself a Maharaja Samurai Chai. Teavana can be a bit pricey but this product is only 19.95 on there website and you can usually get a great deal with their seasonal sales!

2. Booties

During a recent trip to the outlets I found a killer deal, Black ankle booties. They were marked down for $25 and after debating on whether or not to get them, I made my way to the cash wrap. I watched the boots ring in and when the cashier pressed total the price went down to $9!!!! (yes you read that right!) How could I have passed those up! Unfortunately, it hasn’t been as cold as Fall should be so I still have yet to wear them. But I’m also a little nervous to try to pull them off. I love them one but I haven’t found an outfit where I can use the shoes to pull it together. SO shout out to all you shoe lovers, how would you rock black ankle booties?! (pictures to follow on my OOTD)

3. Statement walls

I have recently moved into an apartment for my Graduate Assistantship and boy do I love to decorate! I’ve been dying to decorate my room and create a space that I love to spend time in. My bedroom is my current project. I have one statement wall directly above my bureau. The picture shown is what I have so far. I’m still looking before more key pieces to pull it together but I’m starting to really enjoy it!

4. DIY project

Number four is not a must have but it is something I want to try making. While on the topic of decorating, I’ve decided to try making my own head board. Now recently while working First Year move in I noticed a lot of the girls were bringing in these huge pieces of wood and I had not a clue in the world with what they were. After searching through pintrest I have found a couple of instructional videos that don’t look too hard to follow. The blog She Said made hers out of cardboard and stuck to a $30 budget. Click the picture to visit her blog! I’ll be making a video of making one to put up on this blog as well!

5. R2d2 nightie

I have no words for how awesome this is! I might have to do a DIY Halloween costume featuring this sweet shirt dress!  How fun is this and it’s at Target for only 19.99! They recently launched a new Star Wars line that has clothing, toys, bedding, basically anything you want Star Wars themed they have it!

This month has been crazy busy and I cannot wait until October finally starts! Don’t forget if you have any tips on how to rock booties or sit headboards leave it in the comments!

Thanks for sticking with me on this bumpy ride!

Let’s try this again

Tonight I decided to upload a video instead of writing a long blog post! I’m giving myself new deadlines and deciding that I want to have a post up every week (although I hope to have two posted each week!)

Thanks for hanging around and watching!

It’s a great day for new beginnings…

Hello World (or Nana, my only reader),

I have been tossing the idea around for months about starting my own blog, and finally at 10:30 pm on a Monday night, I had the free time to do it! You can check out my About me page if you want to know more about me (pretty self-explanatory). This has been something that I have wanted to start for some time now. After spending a month living with a blogger, I was swept to the dark side (thanks Riley!!)

I hope to use this page for different things. Recently I have through the idea of doing different themed days, for example, Monday will be Make-over Monday, I will explore different makeup brands or post different reviews from items I have used. I am still working the kinks out, but let me know what you’ll think!

Since I am new to this, I can use all the help I can get. Any feedback, comments, concerns, updates or ways to make this blog better, PLEASEEEEE tell me!

I am really excited to start this journey, and to whoever is reading this, I hope you enjoy the ride 🙂
